Artist Book, 8”x 8" x 2"

In making this abstract book, I wanted to show my feelings, which were based on “my experience in Chicago.” In this book, I explain when I came to Chicago, and I lived alone for the first time because I always lived with my family in Korea. At that time, I was lonely, and sometimes I could not handle my situation. I always had to figure out problems, and I did not know I would have so many problems when I lived by myself. Therefore, I wanted to put my feelings inside this box called"Here." The "Here" box represents my feelings when I came here. My feelings were complicated and the structure inside the "Here" box represents these emotions. When you first open the box, you will see the structure has ups and downs; that is my emotionally unstable condition. There are six total boxes, and each box has one of my emotions. I want people to experience my feeling when they are seeing, hearing, touching and taking a direct action from the six boxes. Each box also has a sentence on top that describes my feelings that came from my situation. At that time, I just expressed words, but now I want to put in more metaphorical emotions because a person’s emotions are hard to explain to other people.
