My Story in Chicago.
Book, 7”x8.5", Digital Print on paper

I picked up the article "Roughing It" in the Chicago Sun-Times on August 30, 2009 and I choose the words randomly for making my book “My story in Chicago”. The words are: lonely, start, complicated, enjoy, saying, fabulous, impressive, real and simple.

When I saw these words, I realized that when I first lived in Chicago. I felt these words apply to my life. Therefore, I wrote my story about when I started to live in Chicago using the words. Underneath the post card are hidden dialogues between anther person and myself to explain my changing feelings and my new life using pictures. The first pictures are darker and blurrier lit but the pictures become clearer as my feelings become clearer. The postcards are a way for me to give my story to other people in Korea. The important issue in this book is emotional progress. This emotional progress is the result of struggling to understand how people adapt to new circumstances, and how gradual changes represent people’s lives.
