What I should look like
Project Process: a gendered being + what I should look like
Concept: Stereotypically beautiful women + women who want career advancement
Connections: diagrams

In my working project, I want to show conflicts between stereotypically beautiful women and women who want career advancement. Some people think that more beautiful women cannot achieve a career in the intelligence, and business sense. Recently, however, more women are combining beauty and professional careers than ever before. As a result, I want to show what it looks like to have both beauty and achieve career advancement.

I chose to represent, this by looking at Louis Vuitton’s metaphorical symbols that represents beauty, wealth, and status. My alteration of his patterns expresses a stereotypical woman inside a diamond who is wearing a skirt and alternating with a circle her career with a business representing her career. The charts represent career, business, intelligence, analysis and money. Together, Louis Vuitton patterns and charts show the juxtaposition between stereotypically beautiful women and women who want career advancement. I created a shopping bag bringing these two realms together because the shopping bag is created expressed one’s personality and allows viewers to interact with my artwork.
